Algi Durgapur South Union Council at a Glance
Algi Durgapur Southern Union is a river-grown union. At one time there were numerous canal bills or janas in the union. The number of Hindus in this union was high. The locals used to travel to Hindus through Janpur and hence the name UP has been known as "Algi Durgapur South".
Algi Durgapur Southern Union is a traditional area of the upazila on the banks of the Meghna. From the first to the present day, the Aligarh Durgapur South Union is still known for its propriety in various fields including education, culture, religious ceremonies, sports.
It is no longer heard of such a second largest river port for various hostilities, but now the road from Chandpur to Himachar and Algi Durgapur South Union is paved and the goods are being transported on the road.

To the east - Mollacherunian, to the west - Gidariomalibari, to the north - Kapasia, to the south - to the Gidarioni union. The Kamarzani Union is located about 5 km northeast of Gaibandha city.
